Between Hours AKA PC Cafe

Most people from the Boston area refer to this small cafe as “PC Cafe” rather than it’s real name: Between Hours, because on the sign of the actual establishment, the letters “PC Cafe” are actually larger than the letters for “Between Hours”, making the official title seem like an afterthought.
Setting
I really like the ambiance of the place, the crowd are generally younger college aged kids relaxing at one of the tables, playing the board games that are available for the patrons to play. As for the actual “PC Cafe” part of the place, PC Cafes have been a sort of relic of the past as most people can access what they need and more from their high tech cellphones and free wifi that is on every street corner. But thats only a personal observation, as I have personally never seen anybody use the numerous computers in the back of the room.
Food and Drink
This is where the place really shines! Their Patbingsu/Patbingsoo is absolutely delicious! The “Pat” means the sweetened azuki beans, while the bingsu/bingsoo means “shaved ice”. This classic Korean treat is made in several different varieties and the one I chose here was the Fruit version, which tops my dessert with many various fruits. In addition to the fruits and beans, there was a large dollop of vanilla ice cream! The fruits were all very fresh, and the shaved ice fairly finely shaved, it led to a perfect and sweet way to cool off, albeit not too sweet.
Overall
The prices for the patbingsoo was a little expensive, but the serving is pretty big. I definitely have to come back to try the bubble teas and other drinks. Otherwise, it is a pretty relaxing place to grab a drink and catch up with a friend, if you don’t mind the omnipresent young Asian background noise.
